One of the most common forms of lunar eclipse is penumbral eclipse. On the other hand total lunar eclipse occurs when moon totally disappears in the shadow of earth.
This type of lunar eclipse is very difficult to spot. Reason being in this eclipse, the moon tends to pass through the penumbral shadow of the earth for a very small instant.
